Piers Richard Warburton has emailed me to say he has just completed a biography of Dame Anne Warburton. Dame Anne was the UK’s first female ambassador (and Richard’s aunt).
In addition to being Ambassador to Denmark, she also led a mission to Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1993 and her report established that rape was being used as a strategy for ethnic cleansing and led in part to the establishment of the International Criminal Court. She also grew Lucy Cavendish college at the University of Cambridge, a college for mature women, from recent start-up to established college.
I have yet to read it, but if anyone would like to comment on it, please do.
